Home heating, cooling and air
Repairs and replacements for houses across Irving, Las Colinas, Valley Ranch and Coppell — including the rooms that have never behaved.
Find the fault, then price the fix
A system that will not cool has a handful of likely causes and they are all measurable: refrigerant charge, airflow, a capacitor or contactor, a blocked drain with a tripped float switch, a control board, an ignition fault. We test rather than guess, and the price for the repair comes before the spanner does.
If the honest answer is that the repair does not make sense on a system of that age, you will hear that too, with the cost of both routes side by side.
A new system is a design job, not a shopping list
The size is decided by the house: area, insulation, glass, orientation, how the ducts run and how leaky they are. Two houses on the same street can need different equipment.
- SizingWorked out from the house. An oversized unit short-cycles, leaves the air humid and wears itself out earlier.
- DuctworkChecked and repaired before the new equipment goes on it, because leaking ducts waste part of whatever you buy.
- Options in writingUsually two or three, with what each one actually changes for you rather than a rating sheet.
- The install itselfLine sets, drains, electrical and the pad or platform — the parts that decide whether it lasts.
One room that is always wrong
Nearly every house has one. It is usually airflow rather than capacity: a duct that is too long or crushed, a register that was never balanced, a return that cannot get air back out of the room when the door is shut, or a room over a garage with an attic on three sides.
We measure the room before proposing anything, because the fix is often cheap and occasionally is not the system at all.
Filters, humidity and the things people ask about
- FiltersA deeper filter cabinet usually beats a tighter one-inch filter, because it filters better and restricts airflow less.
- HumidityIn a North Texas summer, a system that runs in longer, slower cycles removes more moisture than one that blasts and stops.
- VentilationNewer, tighter houses sometimes need controlled fresh air. Older leaky ones almost never do.
- What we will not claimWe do not sell air cleaners on health promises. We will tell you what a device does and what it does not.
